The prescription for avoiding the bad is pretty simple: stay occupied doing good!

God will often respond or relate to you as you do to Him. For example, to the merciful, He extends mercy.
"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you . . ." - 2:1.
You shouldn't just read God's word casually, but you should also endeavor to study and even memorize it.
"Do not give in to them. If they say, 'Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul'" - 1:10-11.
It matters who your friends are and with whom you spend time, share values, and go to for advice.
“Lest they drink and forget what the law decrees, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights” - Proverbs 31:5.
Don't be so focused on your own needs that you ignore or become deaf to the cries of the poor.
“This is the way of an adulteress: She eats and wipes her mouth and says, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong’” - Proverbs 30:20.
It can be difficult to admit it when you're wrong and even harder to ask for forgiveness for the wrong done.
“The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: the Lord gives sight to the eyes of both” - Proverbs 29:13.
There should be no class or economic distinctions in the body of Christ.
“If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable” - Proverbs 28:9.
Prayer cannot be a substitute for obedience. You pray to find and then do God's will.
