School Fees Due

The Kids Say Thanks

Our team visited the Each One Touch One Orphanage on February 27 and we all had a great time with thePhyllisSchoolGate children along with Alice and some of her ministry team who work at the home. Alice is diligent to provide receipts for our contributions, and to have the children send thank you letters - which is almost a lost practice these days. I thought I would share a few of the letters with you so you can hear from the children we have come to love so much (click on any image to enlarge it).

PhyllisLtrThe children are on school holiday right now, which means that the home is doing extra duty since the kids are present all day. What's more, the children are growing every day, which means things in the house are more cramped and the children have different needs - like more food, growing pains, and mental and physical adjustments as puberty looms. You will read in the letters that the children refer to Alice as ObedLtr "mum," and can you imagine being "mum" for twenty children. Yet that is exactly who Alice is, and the pressure of caring for the children spiritually and practically is overwhelming.

I first met Alice and the children in October, 2009, and I was impressed with Alice's sincerity, and the needs that they had at the home. Alice and some other ladies were funding everything from their own resources, and it was apparent that they were about to exhaust their funds. Since then, we have donated $3,000 to $4,000 MirriamLtreach year and are now paying the school fees for five children. The fees are not a luxury, but a simple attempt to get the children with potential to the best possible school. One of those children is Phyllis, who is pictured here with Alice in front of the gate at her new school.

I have often told our teams that we cannot save the whole world, so let's just focus on JosephLtrsaving a piece of it. That has been our philosophy at EOTOO. Perhaps God will help us to save those children from the devastating future that is in store for many orphans, so that is why we invest and I ask you to invest in the children and their daily needs. Please read these letters and then give generously to the children's upkeep. You can give using Paypal through my website  or by sending a tax-deductible check to PurposeQuest, PO Box 8882, Pittsburgh, PA 15221-0882. Thank you and God bless you for your fulfillment of James 1:27: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
