Karen Academy
September 14, 2014
As you know, we work with Pastor Peter in Banana outside Nairobi where we have out biggest library project. Peter introduced us to a wonderful woman named Gladys Nyambura who found Karen Academy in Banana, a school for children up through eighth grade. We visit Karen every time we go to Kenya and Peter shares the supplies we give him with Gladys and the Academy - and we are delighted he does.
Peter's update this week is from a visit to the Academy to share resources from our most recent container shipment. That included a laptop to a worthy student along with some tshirts that I did not even realize we had sent in the container. You can read Peter's update for yourself:
Dear Dr. John.
This is a report to help you know what God is doing and what is happening here in Kenya. So far we have managed to take all the books for Karen school. On top of that we were faced by a tough decision after one of our student whom we sponsor in Karen School was admitted in Nairobi University and she was required to have a laptop. We decided to donate one of those you gave. She was more than overjoyed for it stood before her dream. Thanks PurposeQuest for this wonderful support. The kids are looking smart with all the shoes and the tshirts you donated. The Karen School has been able to put beautiful roofing in the office and this was courtesy of the donation you made to them of $500 when you visited. This act of helping will never go unrewarded by our Father in heaven.
He is the reason of our living.
Pastor Peter
We appreciate the work Peter is doing and we trust him to invest what we send in ways that will bless God's people and show God's love for them.
