I received a matching grant challenge this week from a donor who wants to maximize the return on her gift investment. She has promised to match every dollar given up to a $500 maximum for whatever comes in this week. That means your gift of $10 will actually turn into a $20 gift, your $25 will be $50, and so on. You get the idea.
I love the whole philosophy behind a matching grant, and I love this grant. It is not a huge gift, but many times I have not given the $100 I had because it wasn't $1000, or $50 because it was not $100. I did not give a little because I could not give a lot and that's the wrong mentality. Now you have a chance to give whatever is in your heart and within your means to give and it will double, no matter how large or small. Now that's a good giving deal!
The deadline for the matching grant is next Sunday night, May 18 at midnight. You can give using PayPal through my website this week or by sending a check this week to PurposeQuest, PO Box 8882, Pittsburgh, PA 15221-0882. As always, any and all funds received go directly toward helping widows and orphans.
My thanks to my matching grant donor and my thanks to you for helping take and meet the challenge. I will give you an update in next week's Monday Memo.
