Rest Stop 14

"Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath
so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are
you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on
the Sabbath? Stop judging by mere appearances,
but instead judge correctly" - John 7:23-24.

The Pharisees, the leaders in Israel, were angry with Jesus because He was doing good on the Sabbath. The problem was they had bad thinking and it was causing them to be agitated about something that should not have upset them. Leaders must learn how to think properly and frame their problems so they can truly rest when they take time away from work or ministry. Otherwise, they will waste their down time because they are expending so much mind energy through anger, worry, doubt and fear.

LEADERSHIP STEP: Your step today is a rest stop from anger and all other thinking practices that are draining your energy and not allowing you to rest even when you try. You will do this by controlling what's called your self talk - taking control with God's help over what you think about and how you frame your problems. No matter how often toxic, rest-robbing thoughts creep in, you simply think "No!" and focus your mind on something else until the thoughts subside.
