W10D3 - Attitude

"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had . . ." - Romans 15:5.

There's power when everyone in a family or organization has the same attitude of mind. Here we see in part that an attitude is a gift that God gives, just like endurance and encouragement. While God gives attitudes, it's up to the leaders and each member of the team to do all they can to maintain that positive, unified attitude. A positive, optimistic attitude releases energy, gratitude, and a can-do mindset. A negative attitude creates self-fulfilling negative scenarios that spread throughout the organization and only serve to make matters worse.

LEADERSHIP STEP: If there's someone on your team who has a negative attitude, you must have a talk with them today. The way to confront is not to hammer them with your perspective, but to open a dialog to see if you are correct in your assessment and then to find out the source of the negativity, which may be you, your actions, or your own attitude. Team attitude is a gift, but you must work to develop and maintain that good attitude in yourself and your team.
