"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus . . ." - Philippians 2:5.

An attitude, like that of an airplane, is the direction someone is leaning as compared to a fixed point. A leader has an attitude toward a person, project, or duty, either leaning into it with a positive or away from with a negative attitude. Leaders are to develop and maintain a positive attitude, just like Jesus, toward service, humility, and team relationships. Thus, the directive in this verse is not just for church leaders. It's for all leaders, who must ask God's help to have the correct attitude in every situation, including a negative attitude toward bad leadership behavior.

LEADERSHIP STEP: Today it's time to assess your attitude toward the aspects of your leadership walk. On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being the highest), rate your attitude in the following areas: team relationships, humility, service, learning new things, encouraging others, honesty and integrity, and exercise (feel free to add others). What are the areas in which you ranked lowest? What are you going to do to improve your attitude in those areas of life and/or work?
