This past week I sent over to Kenya tuition money for three students - Nuru, Deborah and Mary. The Kenya schools take a 'summer' break from December 1 to January 10, During the holidays, I wired $2,500 from The Sophia Fund for the orphans and widows groups with whom we work. The attached picture is a recent picture of the orphans at the Each One Touch One orphanage.

I was also sad to send $100 to Pastor Francis of Upako to help bury his adult son who was tragically killed just before the holidays. Here is Francis' latest report:

I want to thank you for your prayers, financial support and for your encouragement during the time when I was in deep sorrow and brokenness. May you live to save many.

We are back to school and 152 children are back to continue with their studies at different levels and we thank God that all of them are in good health. The 20 orphans are all well including Mary who went back to her good school.

During Christmas the children celebrated well despite the grief that befell us and we bought them at least something for the holiday and for Mary who was a special case because she had more. We also bought food for the holidays and had some to take us through January.

For the $1,000 you sent for the children, we spent ksh48,200 on the chidren's wear and the remaining ksh31,400 on food. The Kshs 42,000 you sent went for school fees and $100 was spent on Mary's new text books as shown in the scanned receipts.

God has given me grace to face my loss and continue in His service.

Life in much of Africa and Kenya is tough and Pastor Francis is not exempt from the tragedy and sadness tha are part of life there.
