W1D6 - Team Building

"Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers:
Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who
had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. While
they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,
'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I
have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they
placed their hands on them and sent them off" - Acts 13:1-3.

After Jesus, no one impacted the New Testament church more significantly than Paul. Paul was a great leader, but he never functioned alone. He always traveled and worked with a team. In this passage, we see that Paul was with a team in Antioch when the Holy Spirit spoke and established a new team with him and Barnabas to do missions work. So the team emerged from a team, for truly all of us are smarter than one of us whether in the family, business, or ministry.

LEADERSHIP STEP: Today take a moment to assess your team work. First, of all if you are leading a team or teams, how healthy are they? Do you have the correct people on them? Are you carrying or covering for dead weight? If you are part of a team, are you being a good and effective team member? Finally, if you are not part of or building a team, are you being most effective by going solo? Why are you working alone?
