Pearl 221: Time Poverty

TOPIC: Time and Boredom

" . . . and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man" - Proverbs 6:11.

When you waste your time, you lose opportunities to produce things that could enrich your life or the lives of others. And wasting time can become a bad habit so that eventually your life becomes boring and structured, lacking adventure. When that happens, you have shrunk your world down to its most manageable components, fearing anything out of the ordinary, yet desperately craving what you are missing. Is your life lacking in energy and excitement? Can you predict pretty much today what will happen tomorrow? Is this how you want to live for your remaing years?

Lord, I feel like my life could be so much more than it is, and time is at the center of it. I dream of what I may do in 10 years, but I am stuck in a rut today, and I don't see any changes for tomorrow. Help me to break out of this time poverty that I have created and allowed to take over my life.
