Pearl 96: Traveling Light

TOPIC: Organizational Basic Rule
"When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas,
and my scrolls, especially the parchments" - 2 Timothy 4:13.
Paul traveled light and had to do so because of the nature of his work. You should have the same philosophy. Your life is probably cluttered with things that you no longer use, things that you are keeping just in case you need them or things to which you are emotionally attached. A good rule to follow is this: When in doubt, throw it out. Do you have too much stuff? Is it time to go room by room, closet by closet, and have a garage sale or give things away? What is keeping you from doing that? Perhaps this is where you need to start in your quest to be more organized.
Lord, I confess I have a hard time getting rid of my stuff, including papers, clothes, tools, magazines, and much more. I need to lighten my load to travel light in the work you gave me to do, so I commit to go through my world and get rid of what is weighing me down. Help me to get over my attachment to things.
