So Much To Report From Kenya

Pearl 48: Lazy

TOPIC: Goals and Laziness

"A sluggard’s appetite is never filled,
but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied" - Proverbs 13:4.

When you are lazy, you can have all kinds of dreams but they are never satisfied or fulfilled. Most of your laziness is rooted in fear - fear of not finishing, fear of finishing, fear of failure, fear of criticism.  So if you are going to deal with your laziness, perhaps you need to start by facing your fears and why you choose to sit on the couch and watch television rather than write, study or serve. Have you succumbed to laziness? What is the source of your laziness?  Apathy?  Fear? Anxiety? Lack of personal development?

Lord, at times there is no explanation for my inactivity except for laziness. I want to understand why I am lazy, for You certainly created me to work and achieve. When I am lazy, I am thwarting Your plans for my life. Reveal my heart and let me know why I have a tendency to inaction and then grant me grace to repent.
