What would Jesus ask you today?

"And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?” - Matthew 15:3.

The commands of God are found in the Word of God and those commands are our guides of life and behavior. Nothing is to supersede those commands, yet the prevailing culture works to counteract those commands. For instance, culture wants you sometimes to work on Sunday but the Word directs you to worship. Culture dictates that you should hoard and collect; the Word teaches contentment and generosity. Culture teaches to eat and be merry; the Word talks about fasting and humility. Are there any areas in your life where you have let culture or tradition contradict God's clear commands for you? Read what Paul wrote about this subject in Colossians 2:16-23 and ask yourself the same question again.
