Seth Godin

Seth Godin is one of my favorite business authors. I credit Godin with helping me understand the power of the Internet, blogs and permission marketing to build relationships, which in turn empowered me to start The Monday Memo and my blog site. I just finished Godin's latest book, The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When To Quit. As usual, Godin's insight and ability to look at things from a unique perspective have challenged me. In essence, Godin counsels in The Dip that, if you can't be the best at the world in what you (whether a company or individual) do, then quit and find something else to do. Only those at or near the top of their work will make it in today's global marketplace.

While looking at his blog for The Dip, I found a fantastic video of a man who had a chance to express his purpose on a world stage. Check out that video entitled Critics and The Dip on Seth's site. It will take your breath away!
