You are to treat your enemies like friends, for this is just what God does! He causes the sun to shine on the just and the unjust. How well are you treating those who are not only not your friends, but who also may be mistreating you? You may want to read Jesus' instruction on how to relate to your enemies in Matthew 5:43-48.
